Join WHAT NOW WHAT NEXT Co-Founder, Joanne Roberts, at this event hosted by Women Entrepreneurs New York City (WE NYC). "Is Gig a Go for Women Entrepreneurs"  will provide you with expert advice from women entrepreneurs making major moves within the Gig Economy!

The gig economy is growing rapidly. By 2020 the sector will grow to more than $63 billion globally. The Gig Economy could be the future of entrepreneurship as we know it as the increase of project-based work contributes to the growth of solopreneurs.

Women, in particular, are turning to the Gig Economy in an effort to gain more flexibility, work-life balance, and equal pay. On the flip side most women who consider themselves freelancers are taking up projects to supplement their income rather than as a pathway to owning a business. Where is the disconnect?

Join our dynamic panel who have used project-based work to launch their own companies and have grown their businesses on gig work platforms. These innovators will share their entrepreneurial journeys—their motivations, the lessons they have learned along the way, and the advice that they wish someone gave them. Join us to hear stories, and learn from their stories.

Panelists include:

-Christie Chirinos, Co-Founder, Caldera Labs

-Ivy Newman, President, The Viney Group

-Deepti Sharma, Founder, FoodtoEat

-Joanne Roberts, Co-Founder, What Now What Next

Panelists will be in conversation with Beth Wiesendanger, Community Organizer at Fiverr, the world’s largest freelance services marketplace for lean entrepreneurs.
