I Killed the Cow

Larissa Marten is a performer, writer, and theatre educator based in New York. She tours the country as an activist and educator, performing her one-woman show, I KILLED THE COW for businesses and educational institutions. I KILLED THE COW uses humor and metaphor to start a conversation and further understanding about sexual assault.

Her plays have been developed and presented at the Kennedy Center, City Theatre, the Hudson Guild Theatre, and the Beckwith Theatre Company. She has been published by Solos Literary Magazine and the Texas Theatre Journal.

As an actor, she has worked at the Signature Theatre, the Majestic Theatre, the Michigan Shakespeare Festival, and Queens Shakespeare. On camera, she has worked for CBS, NBC, and various independent films. She is a recipient of numerous awards, including being named Broadway World’s Best Actor.

I KILLED THE COW has been named a “Top 10 Must See” by the Twin Cities Arts Reader and awarded by the International Boulder Fringe Festival, being named Most Politically Relevant. Theatre World Internet Magazine calls it, “part Dr. Seuss, part Gertrude Stein and nearly Shakespearean, chronicling a debilitating sexual assault and how she finds the inner strength to rise above it.”

Larissa is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan and a proud member of the Dramatists Guild. More information at larissamarten.com. If you are interested in bringing I KILLED THE COW to your organization, learn more at ikilledthecow.com.
